Rip rugby

 Rip Rugby

Every Tuesday Rob comes to our school and teaches us how to play rip rugby.

First Rob had to tell us the rules. You can’t forward pass; you have to pass to the people beside or behind you. But I kept on forgetting and I passed the ball forward 3 times.

The first time we played it was boys vs girls. We did okay but we definitely needed practice. The second and third time we played we got a lot better, Rob said it would be great if we entered the Rip Rugby competition. We have one more session with Rob on the 2nd of December.

 The Accident

Today the year is 1943 the air is freezing and I'm luckily in a nice house right next to the fire.

I get my scarf and coat on and I slowly walk outside so I don't make a mistake and slip over because the ground is coated in snow. As I take a step outside I feel like I'm going to fall but I keep walking. As soon as I got to the driveway of an old grumpy man's house; BANG! I'm on the ground, the wet freezing ground.I scream ‘’My arm it’s broken’’. I got someone to call the ambulance.

10 minutes later…

The ambulance got here. I got picked up and put on a stretcher and in the ambulance I went to the hospital. Once I got there they put me in a room and then they said my arm was broken and would take a whole year to heal up.They also put a cast on me I felt as if I would die then I was out of that weird hospital. That was painful I said to myself. At least you’re still alive, my roaring friend said.

1 year later..

I go back to the hospital and get my cast removed.’’I'M FREE AGAIN’’ I yell.I bolt home and go back. All of the snow is gone now. I can't slip on  the snow again.

*It’s started snowing again,*

Well I just won't go outside.

KEEPING OURSELVES SAFE

KEEPING OURSELVES SAFE

On Wednesday this week constable Terri came to teach us about keeping ourselves

safe.

First she started to talk about apps that have an age limit like Tik Tok you have to be

13 and over to have Tiktok same with Instagram and facebook. She said that a child

had

tiktok and she said she was around 30 just to get that app.

After she finished talking about that we watched a video about Emma,

a girl who was cyber bullied because a group of girls videoed her crying. She got a

ball kicked at her face and put it on social media.

Then everyone started laughing except Emma’s friend and a boy named Jeremy

Jeremy helped by telling his mum because Emma didn't tell anyone. Then Jeremy's

mum told the school.

Once the video ended we had to answer questions about the

video like who made the problem better and what did the girls do to Emma.

MY SPEECH ABOUT FLUS

IN THIS SPEECH I'M GOING TO TALK ABOUT DIFFERENT FLUS

First there is Coronavirus, If you’ve been watching the news lately, the chances are you’ll have heard lots about an illness that’s affecting people all around the world, called Coronavirus. Coronavirus is a viral flu that has spread all over the world and the number of cases have risen everyday. We even had to go into lockdown because of this virus.

What happens when you get Covid-19?

When people get Covid-19 they will develop signs and symptoms including a mild fever. Most people infected with COVID-19 virus have a mild disease.Older people, and those with pre existing medical conditions such as high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes have a higher chance of getting Covid-19.

Is there any treatment for Coronavirus?

There is no specific treatment for coronavirus. However, many of the symptoms can be treated.

When and where did Covid-19 start?

Covid-19 started in Wuhan China in December 2019.

Second, there is the Spanish flu, a pandemic of 1918, the deadliest in history, which infected an estimated 500 million people worldwide, about one-third of the planet’s population. The 1918 flu affected Europe first then the United States and parts of Asia before spreading around the world. A person who touches something with the virus on it and then touches his or her mouth, eyes or nose can become infected.

A devastating second wave of the Spanish Flu hit American shores in the summer of 1918, as returning soldiers infected with the disease spread it to the general population, especially in crowded cities.

Thirdly there is the Asian Flu pandemic this pandemic started in 1957, it was the second major pandemic. The Asian Flu outbreak was associated with variation and course of illness. Whereas some infected individuals experienced only minor symptoms, such as cough and mild fever.

Fourth there is Cholera Flu. This is a 1854 Flu,theorists concluded that cholera was caused by particles in the air. If someone with cholera is left untreated it could kill him or her within hours, even very healthy people. To treat cholera the person with Cholera needs to have lots of liquids and salts. Cholera still exists in Africa and Southeast of Asia

Now I'm going to tell you the difference between a pandemic and an epidemic.

An epidemic is a local disease and a pandemic is a worldwide disease.

In my speech I have covered Covid-19, Spanish Flu,Asian flu and Cholera. The biggest Pandemic that is going around at the moment is Covid-19. People also think that this pandemic is not going to end and will be with us forever.

RENOVATION TIME

Room 1 is getting renovated so the walls and floor are getting stripped and getting replaced with new carpet and wall paper, but one wall won't be getting done at this stage, It's the wall where our bags go in the morning. This wall will be getting done when the main renovation is being done. Since Room 1 is getting renovated we are in the library, it is small but the desks fit so that is a good thing about it.Im sure we're all excited about moving back into Room 1. We can’t wait until the whole renovation is completed. The small inconvenience will be worth it.

MY AMAZING KAKAPO FACTS

Kakapo facts:
Kakapo can’t fly, they use their short wings for balance and support rather than flying.
Their feathers are much softer than those of other birds because they do not need to be strong and stiff enough to support flight.
Kakapo have very strong legs so they can get around easier on their feet.
One of their defenses is to freeze and hope to blend into the background when danger is near

GETTING SUCKED UP BY
A VACUUM CLEANER

Today I'm going to tell you about a nightmare that I had. It probably
won’t sound scary but
believe me it was terrifying.

So it all started off with jumping into a book that took me to a vacuum
world and that was the fun part. But then out of nowhere there was a
cliff and then I fell and broke my finger.

So I climbed back up and wandered around for a little while then the
biggest vacuum cleaner came and sucked me up right to the top.
I tried to escape but I couldn't.
THEN I WOKE UP AND SCREAMED!!!

THE END

MY AMAZING TUI WRITING

TUI

  • in the other parts.

Neil the one and only

2020
WHEN NEIL ARMSTRONG BECAME AN
ASTRONAUT

Neil Armstrong became a astronaut in August 5 1930 till August 25 2012
He was 16 when he went to the moon.
20 July 1969 is when he walked on the moon

Before he was an astronaut he worked for a group that studied air planes.
That group later became part of NASA.
He flew several planes for them.
He also helped design planes.
He was 16 when he went to the moon.

Neil amstrong spent 8 minutes throwing unnecessary objects on to the moon
His love for flying started at a young age when his father took him to an air show.
Six hundred million people watched the first moonwalk on TV which was Neil
Armstrong.

The footprints made by Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin are still on the Moon.
The dust is thick, but there isn't any wind to remove them.

Neil Armstrong had to wear special gear so he could breath
so did everyone else who went on the moon.
